The Unitarian Universalist Society of Amherst is a community of caring freethinkers, dedicated to a collective search for truth and meaning.

Our faith teaches us that revelation is not sealed, our experiences and our interactions with others continue to refine our understanding of why we are here and what we need to do with our lives. Because of this ongoing search, we provide many opportunities to continue our learning together.

We understand that our search for meaning is by no means limited to our own lives, we must reach outward as well. As we strive to help create a heaven here on Earth for all beings, our community is involved in many social justice initiatives.

Next Service!

September 13 – Ingathering Water Ceremony with Reverend Alyssa and the Worship Collaborative – Participants are invited to bring a small amount of water from a place that is special to them. During the service, people one by one pour their water together into a large bowl.

This water will come from the many places in our lives: from kitchen sinks, far-off places, favorite swimming holes, and water bottles. Some of the water we will save and purify for rituals in this coming year, and since there is more water here than we will need, the rest will water the plants of the gardens surrounding the meetinghouse.

Zoom will be available this week!
